It would be great if yourself or Uhuru Guru came out of retirement and started blogging again.
After leaving South Africa for Oz back in the mid-nineties, your blog filled a void in my life by keeping me updated on the most recent happenings over there, whilst also serving as a constant reminder of why I'd left my beloved country in the first place.
I was very sorry when you stopped posting, but the baton was very ably picked up by others during the WSAS's days, which in turn saw the birth of many other wonderful blogs.
So, I wish you luck with your return - I'll be watching this space with interest.
Greetings, I have been a reader of this blog and its successor, SAS run by Uhuru Guru, since The Real Realist first started it. Look forward to the coming update!
Could you post pictures illustrating what South Africa used to look like before 1993?
Since America is pretty much on the same road only slower I want to demonstrate to all the clueless people over here through images what is in store for us if we don't wake up.
I stumbled by chance upon your blog and have thoroughly 'enjoyed' by pure curiosity your posts and photographs. I was only just old enough to remember some of these places still in their prime having visited them as a child with my parents. They tell me stories of Johannesburg when they used live in its city centre. I too am saddened, like many other readers, by the utter destruction I see in your photographs. As South Africans I think we feel like we want to be proud of our country and be able to show it off to the rest of the world. But for this I feel more persuaded to do something about the situation... Please DO post some more photo's and excerpts. I'd be interested to see what has happened since 2008!
How soon is soon? :o) I'm interested in seeing a now and then comparison since you started the blog. Hope you're still reading comments from this site!
Nice page, I put a bookmark here a time ago and just come back today to see if there was any update made. Unfortunately I found this not yet happened so just wondering if there is still any plan to get new pics to this site, or there is no any safe chance left to show the truth behind the attractive scenes visible in the media?

Waiting for the update :)
Has the situation improved since 2006 or is it getting worse?
